Blå Måndag: Sephora - Will You Jump?

To have a blog with different themes for different week days really makes you understand how fast time pass by. I can't understand that it's Monday already and time for Blue Monday at Linda's. It feels like it was just a couple of days since I showed you Poolside but obviously it was a whole week ago. The good part about time flying by is that my vacation is getting closer. Oh, I'm going to spend four weeks only doing things that I like, it's going to be awesome!

Today you are about to see one of the polishes I got from Sephora in Copenhagen, the blue Will You Jump? The polish is a cobalt blue crelly and it's incredibly shiny. On the pictures I'm not wearing any topcoat at all and as you can see it has a huge reflection. What made me a bit disappointed about this polish is that it has a stronger blue color in the bottle but it gets lost when the polish dries on the nails, then it becomes darker. Too bad because I really like the color in the bottle.

Another thing that I'm not so thrilled about is Sephora's brush. It's rounded and really wide and not fun at all to use. But thanks to the formula of the polish it's pretty easy to applicate without too much trouble.  Three coats is needed since the polish is a crelly.

But even though the polish doesn't have the blue color I was expected and the brush leaves some to be wanted I still like the polish. It has a nice color and it really is shiny and pretty.

Nail Art Sunday: Tie Dye Gradient

Today it's Nail Art Sunday at Lelack's and I've been longing for this day so much, finally I can take part in it again. If I haven't misstaken the theme for this week is Hideous Week which Lela has had on her blog all week long. I took a chance and wanted to try on of the polishes I bought on Sephora for Nail Art Sunday and I had my suspicions that this wouldn't turn out that great.

The polish I'm talking about is called Tie Dye and should be used over another polish to create a tie dye effect or as we polish neards call it, gradient. Of course I had to buy this polish and try it how it worked even if I were pretty sure that the result wouldn't be that good.

I chose to try this over the polish from yesterday Jungle Queen and even if it's not the best gradient I've done the result actually became better than I thought it would.

Sure, it's not the same as if you use a sponge where the colors mix together better. Here the result is more stripey, even more stripey than on the pictures. But if you want something extra on your nails some day and don't have a lot of time this polish is perfect.

This is a very thin, inky polish and you have to do layer on layer to get a good effect. For every coat you do you get a darker color. So if you paint over your whole nail with every coat you do the whole nail will get dark.

What do you think, does this mani fit for Hideous Week or is this a polish you would like to try for yourselves?

Sephora - Jungle Queen

This is going to be a long post so I hope you guys don't mind reading. Yesterday me and my dad took a spontaneous trip to Copenhagen just for the day. It was nice to get away and walking around at Ströget. Of course my eyes caught Sephora as we passed by the shoppingcentre Illum which is in the middle of Ströget. I just had to take a look there. I've been to Sephora once before and that was on Rhodes but then I was really tired after a pretty bad sunburn plus long days in extreme heat and I didn't have the energy to focus on everything great they had there. Yesterday on the other hand I felt like I had gone to heaven. My God how much nailpolishes they had!
View of the store

I snapped some bad photos of the store as well as one the polish racks. Unfortunetely they had a lot of LED-lights that distracted my camera a lot so the pictures aren't that good.

Sephoras own brand
Nails Inc & OPI
Sephora & Ciaté
A bit of all the brands

Of course I had to buy some polishes this time. So five of Sephora's own polishes and one Nails Inc got to come home with me.

Will You Jump?, Jungle Queen & Picnic in the Park
Blackjack & Tie Dye

Kensington Palace Gardens

These are my first polishes both from Sephora and Nails Inc and I'm super pleased so far. I thought that I would show you one of the polishes right away and first out is Sephora's Jungle Queen. You also doesn't have to watch my Band-Aids anymore, my finger looks a lot better now and not as scary any more.

Jungle Queen is a Shrek green creme. I had a hard time liking this color before but now it's a color that as good as always caught my eyes in the polish racks. This one is no exception, I think that this color is really beautiful and it goes well with how the nature looks like right now. It reminds a lot of how the birch leaves looks like when they blossom out, don't you think?

The polish dried a bit slower than I'm used too but still quick for a polish that didn't cost more than 50 SEK. Two coats were enough to make it opaque and that's not bad either. I'm definitely looking forward to try the rest of Sephora's polishes. Is it any of the ones you saw above that you are extra curious about?
